As part of TEchMA 2026 – Engineering Sustainable Futures: Materials, Systems and Technologies for Society, the conference recognised two outstanding contributions through the Best Oral Presentation Award and the Best Poster Award.
The Best Oral Presentation Award was presented to José Cação for the contribution:
“DECODE-ESS: Improving Surrogate Fidelity through Empty Space Search”
The award acknowledges the scientific quality of the research, as well as the clarity, structure and effectiveness of its presentation to the conference audience.
The Best Poster Award was awarded to Tomás Frade, João Ferreira and Carlos Laranjeira for the poster:
“Comparing Gelatin and GelMA as Matrices for Glycine-Based Piezoelectric Nanofibers for Transient Sensors”
The work was recognised for its scientific merit, visual presentation and the authors’ ability to communicate their research in an engaging and accessible manner during the poster session.
These distinctions reflect the high scientific standard of the contributions presented at TEchMA 2026 and highlight the talent, dedication and excellence of the researchers involved.
