TEMA – Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation participated in the 10th edition of the Space Propulsion Conference, held from May 18 to 21, 2026, in Bari (Italy), one of the leading international events in the field of aerospace propulsion.
Researchers João Dias and Tiago Gândara represented TEMA at this reference conference, which brings together experts from academia, space agencies and leading companies to discuss key scientific and technological challenges and to shape the future directions of space propulsion.
As part of the event, Tiago Gândara presented the scientific paper“A Lightweight Thermal Modeling Framework for Regeneratively Cooled Rocket Chambers”, co-authored with João Dias and Vítor Costa.
The work introduces an innovative model that enables the simulation and design of regenerative cooling strategies in liquid rocket engines, contributing to the development of more efficient and optimised solutions in the field of space propulsion.
Participation in this conference, organised by the French association 3AF with the support of organisations such as the European Space Agency (ESA), reinforces TEMA’s positioning in emerging areas of aerospace engineering, while promoting the development of international collaborations and new partnerships with research institutions and industry.
