SCIENTIFIC AREAS

Research at TEMA is driven by an integrated and multidisciplinary approach that brings together engineering, materials science, and emerging technologies, enabling the generation and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge with direct impact on industry, society, and sustainability.

The research areas are aligned with major societal and technological challenges, reflected in the national and European programmes in which TEMA is involved. Notably, TEMA contributes to the LASI Associated Laboratory, where it leads the research line dedicated to innovative and sustainable industries, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence, digitalisation, and advanced industrial technologies. This work is also aligned with the priorities of the Horizon Europe programme, particularly within the Digital, Industry & Space and Climate, Energy & Mobility clusters, reinforcing TEMA’s role as an active agent in building a smarter and more sustainable future.
