Description

Advanced Mechanical Testing Platform – CSM Instruments

Nano-Indenter (0.1–500 mN)
A nanoindentation system designed to measure mechanical properties such as hardness, elastic modulus, and penetration resistance on surfaces and thin films with high precision. Operating within a force range of 0.1 to 500 mN, it is ideal for studying:

  • Hard and ultra-thin coatings
  • Polymeric materials and biomaterials
  • Surfaces treated by plasma or laser
  • Characterization of properties in microstructures or individual phases of composite materials

Micro-Scratch Tester
A dedicated instrument for evaluating coating adhesion, delamination resistance, and scratch resistance through progressive and repetitive scratch tests. It enables analysis of failure mechanisms in thin and multilayer coatings on metallic, ceramic, or polymeric substrates and is widely used for:

  • Analysis of hard coatings (PVD, CVD)
  • Decorative or functional films
  • Protective layers on industrial components
  • Research on surface wear resistance
