Dr. Tatiana Vladimirovna Zhiltsova is an initial-level doctoral researcher at TEMA (Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation), Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Aveiro. He was awarded her PhD at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, in the computational simulation of heat and mass transport phenomena in non-Newtonian fluids at the microscale. Before her Initial Level Doctoral Researcher position, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at TEMA/UA. She dedicated herself to modelling and simulating the air purification process through heterogeneous photooxidation in reactive and non-reactive porous media. Her primary research activities focus on two interconnected areas aimed at promoting the sustainable use of polymeric materials: mitigating degradation caused by usage and reprocessing and replacing fossil-based polymers with bio-based composites. An important part of her work focuses on implementing Scientific Injection Moulding (SIM) principles in the IM process. This software-driven methodology is used both to optimize variables and parameters, hence, ensuring consistency and high-quality results for injection moulded parts, by resorting to optimization algorithms, and to assist the design or redesign of moulding tools. Her expertise in this field has been widely recognized within the industry, resulting in the provision of numerous consultancy services.
