The author has an Integrated Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidade of Aveiro and achieved a final score of 17/20. They completed their M.Sc. dissertation on "Sensor to motion coordinate frame calibration in robotic vehicles" with a grade of 19/20, using the ATOM calibration framework to calibrate sensors in an autonomous vehicle. The author gained expertise in Python, ROS, Gazebo, Git, and general hardware implementations. They are currently pursuing a Ph.D. and working on the AUGMANITY project, where they added the depth modality to ATOM, resulting in the publication of a scientific article in the Journal of Manufacturing Systems and MDPI Sensors. The author's work in ATOM also achieved a participation in a ROSCON 2022 talk named "ATOM Calibration Framework" in Kyoto, Japan. The author gained soft skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, public speaking, and hard skills such as Deep Learning, ROS integration, microcontrollers, electronics, 3D printing, and computer-aided design while serving as the Project Coordinator for AutoMec AD, a student team that is building an RC autonomous vehicle. The team achieved fourth place in the autonomous driving competition of the Festival Nacional de Robótica 2022.
