PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro since March 2013, currently an Assistant Professor at the same institution, where he taught several subjects, in areas ranging from Engineering and Product Development to Thermal Machines, 3D Modeling and Design, or Non-Linear Optimization in Engineering. He has teaching experience not only in the context of Mechanical Engineering, but also maintains a close connection with Design, graphic and industrial. He was director of the Master’s in Design and Product Engineering and maintains a constant activity in these areas of interdisciplinary connection, resulting from previous professional experience in graphic design and arts-oriented training. He has been part of several academic management bodies, from directing Integrated Master’s, Batchelor and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering Degrees (currently still vice-director of the BSc), to being an effective member of the Pedagogical Council of the University of Aveiro. From an integrative and inter/transdisciplinary perspective of Engineering, his scientific activity covers areas related to numerical simulation and optimization in engineering, but also innovative processes in computational modeling and design, as well as additive manufacturing. He was coordinator of activities related to the communication and promotion of his department and the approach to young students and new audiences in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro. Always active at this level, he regularly participates in events to disseminate and promote scientific culture, such as Summer Academies, Open Weeks for Science and Technology, guided tours of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, etc. Furthermore, he has been an advisor to the Formula Student team at the University of Aveiro for more than 10 years, as well as coordinator of several other extracurricular projects.
