Bruno Silva holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Engineering from the University of Aveiro. He completed his BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2022 with a final classification of 16/20, followed by an MSc in Industrial Automation Engineering in 2024, graduating top of his class with a final grade of 18/20. His Master’s thesis, “Calibration of Odometry Systems in Robotic Vehicles”, was awarded 18/20 and led to a peer-reviewed publication in MDPI Sensors (IF = 3.4), which has been accepted and will be published soon. During his Master’s studies, he completed an exchange semester in Slovenia, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence. Since early 2024, he has been a core contributor to the open-source ATOM project, where he developed a calibration method for mobile robots with inaccurate localization systems. The project has received notable attention in the robotics community, accumulating over 250 stars on GitHub. In December 2024, he joined the RN21 research project, which focuses on robotics simulation and the development of Digital Twins for robotic production lines in the natural resin industry. His main contribution involves multi-robot calibration, with a related publication currently in preparation. Bruno is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro, with research focused on contact-rich human–robot collaboration using reinforcement learning.
