Ricardo Ascenso Inácio is currently a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro (October 2025–2029) and a doctoral fellow at the Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation (TEMA), University of Aveiro, within the project “Research and development of additive manufacturing solutions for metals and hybrids for power transformers” (January 2026–June 2026). He completed his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro (September 2023–July 2025), with the dissertation entitled Experimental Study of PEEK Composites Infiltrated into Alumina Structures by Hot Pressing, achieving a dissertation grade of 19/20 and a final classification of 17/20. He previously obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (September 2020–July 2023), graduating with a final classification of 17/20 and a 19/20 internship report. His current research focuses on directed energy deposition (DED) of steel–copper functionally graded materials (FGMs) for enhanced thermal efficiency. His scientific activities include conference abstracts, poster presentations, oral communications and journal publications.
