Description

The nanoindentation tester (NHT3) is designed to provide low loads with depth measurements in the nanometer scale. The system can be used to characterize organic, inorganic, hard and soft materials.

DMA analysis for depth profiling of mechanical properties (HIT, EIT vs depth)

DMA analysis for viscoelastic properties (E’, E’’: storage and loss moduli, tan δ)

The large range of loads of the nanoindentation tester makes NHT3 an ideal nano mechanical testing tool for numerous applications: From nano to micro scale measurements for coatings and bulk materials. It can be used for thin and thick films, and for different materials (metals, ceramics, polymers and semiconductors). At 500 mN max. force, the penetration depth on most materials corresponds to the range of micro indentation tests, while forces applied at 1 mN correspond to the range of nanoindentation tests.
