European Researchers’ Night 2025
TEMA Researchers’ Participation, University of Aveiro
Researchers Sandra Sorte and Alexandre Salgado took part in the European Researchers’ Night 2025, presenting three projects that captured the curiosity and enthusiasm of audiences of all ages — from the youngest visitors to adults.
• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Simulation in Service of Society
A demonstration of how this powerful tool supports product development and process optimisation.
• Energy Transition Alliance (ATE) Project
Application of CFD to optimise the cooling systems of power transformers, contributing to greater energy reliability and blackout prevention.
• NEXUS UA Sports
Use of CFD in the design and development of electric competition prototypes.
The initiative provided an opportunity to bring science closer to the community, showing in an accessible and interactive way how research can generate real impact in everyday life.
