2nd Annual LASI Meeting
TEMA participates in the 2nd Annual Meeting of LASI – Intelligent Systems Associated Laboratory.
On 17 October 2025, the 2nd Annual LASI Meeting took place at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, bringing together researchers from across the country to discuss advances in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
The programme included:
- Thematic sessions on Sustainable Industries, Smart Cities, Health, Connected Society and Public Administration;
- A plenary lecture by Christine Ecker (Goethe University Frankfurt) on decoding gene expression of image‑derived phenotypes with applications in autism, moderated by Miguel Castelo‑Branco (CIBIT, University of Coimbra);
- A presentation on “AI-based Advanced IT Solutions”, delivered by Pedro Prates, TEMA member and Coordinator of LASI Thematic Line 1: Innovative and Sustainable Industries;
- TEMA contributions: 2 oral presentations and 5 posters;
- A roundtable on data management, ethics and responsibility in AI, featuring the participation of Paula Marques, TEMA Coordinator;
- Opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing among research units.
A day dedicated to science, collaboration and knowledge exchange centred on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
