Researcher at the University of Coimbra in the Energy for Sustainability initiative and INESCC, he holds a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems from MIT Portugal/University of Coimbra, a MSc in mechanical engineering from the University of Coimbra and a MBA from Porto Business School. He is an Invited Professor in the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and in the Mechanical Engineering Department of University of Aveiro. His research interests are in the areas of energy economics, energy markets and sustainable energy systems. He is author of articles in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is the Head of Asset Management in EML - energy means life (a subsidiary of Marubeni corporation). With experience in the energy generation industry, he developed knowledge in the areas of management, project development, construction, commissioning, production and maintenance.
