Sathishkumar Duraisamy earned a Master of Engineering in CAD/CAM from Mepco Schlenk Engineering College in India, which he completed in 2016, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Jayam College of Engineering, which he completed in 2010. He began his career at Sanwa Diamond Tools Pvt. Ltd. in 2010, where he improved the performance of diamond cutting tools and led cross-functional teams. In 2016, he transitioned to academia, serving as an Assistant Professor for over seven years at institutions such as Karpagam University for four years and Kathir College of Engineering for three years. During this time, he focused on innovative teaching methods and lectured on five courses: Manufacturing Processes, Engineering Materials and Metallurgy, Design of Machine Elements, and Engineering Graphics. Currently, Sathishkumar Duraisamy is a Research Fellow at the University of Aveiro, where he has been contributing to the development of the Next-Generation Sustainable Heat Pump for Bosch Home Comfort since 2023. His work involves electron beam welding of copper and stainless-steel pipes for heat pump manufacturing, as well as conducting numerical simulations to optimize welding parameters. In 2024, he delivered an invited talk at the Third International Workshop on Modern Trends in Energy Research (WMTER-2024) and presented his research at three other prestigious conferences in Aveiro: the 2nd International Conference on Nanotechnology Research and Innovation, the Research Summit 2024, and the 6th International Conference on Nanomaterials Science and Mechanical Engineering. His presentations focused on optimizing electron beam welding for heat pump systems and multi-material joining techniques. These significant contributions have resulted in publications in international journals and presentations at conferences, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge in mechanical engineering.
