Luciana Rocha (LR) obtained her degree in Analytical Chemistry in 2003 at the University of Aveiro (UA, PT). After that, LR started her research career by obtaining a grant in a European Project (EVK4-CT-2001-00053). In 2004, she was awarded by FCT with a PhD grant at UA & Associated Laboratory CICECO and finished her PhD in Chemistry in 2009. Between 2009 and 2018, LR developed her work as a post-doctoral researcher, being awarded with the following positions: 1) UA & Associated Laboratory CESAM (PT, FCT grant, 02.2009 to 09.2013); 2) University of Algarve & CBME (PT, FCT and ANR project, 10.2013 to 08.2016); 3) Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) & Associated Laboratory REQUIMTE-LAQV (PT, FCT grant, 09.2016 to 06.2017); and 4) UA & CICECO in co-promotion with Bosch Thermotechnology S.A. (PT, FEDER, 07.2017 to 12.2018). In 2019, LR was an assistant researcher in the WASTEMAC project (FCT funding, POCI-01-0145-FEDER-028598) at UA & CESAM. Currently, LR is working at Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation (TEMA, UA) as Superior Technician, being responsible for laboratory management and quality management system of a certified laboratory according to ISO 9001:2015. LR has published 44 peer-reviewed papers in international journals (H-index of 21 and 1385 citations). She has been invited as peer-reviewer by the editorial board of 15 international journals, and in 2021, LR Guest Editor of the Special Issue 'New Advances in Wastewater Treatment Technologies' for Toxics Journal. LR participated in national and international meeting and was member of the organizing committee of the following events: Olimpíadas de Química Junior UA/ Sociedade Portuguesa de Química (2010-2013, 2017, 2018, 2019), Jornadas da Ria de Aveiro (national meeting, Aveiro, PT, 2011), 9th International Symposium on Environmental-Geochemistry (international meeting, Aveiro, PT, 2012), IV and V Analytical Chemistry Symposium (University of Aveiro/CESAM, Aveiro, PT, 2019 and 2021), and TEchMA-International Conference on Technologies for the Wellbeing and Sustainable Manufacturing Solutions (Aveiro, PT, 2022-2025). In June 2015, LR was nominated to the Management Committee of the COST Action ES1205 and in 2020 a team member of COST-Action CA18224. LR was (co)supervisor of 8 undergraduate trainees at UA, 1 Erasmus MSc at FEUP and 1 PhD postgraduate internship (3 months, Universidade Federal do Estado de São Paulo, BR). During LR researcher career, she collaborated with following researchers Dr. Galceran from the University of Lleida (Lleida, ES), Dr. Botero from the Federal University of Alagoas (Arapiraca, BR), Dr. Pinheiro from the University of Lorraine (Nancy, FR) and Dr. Gil from the National Coal Institute (Oviedo, ES).
