PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro and Research Fellow at the Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation, specializing in composite materials and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (19/20) and received the Eng. António Pascoal Award for Best Master’s Student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro.

His research focuses on the development of sustainable cork-based composites for impact mitigation and hydrogen tank protection, combining experimental characterization and advanced numerical modelling in ABAQUS. His expertise includes dynamic mechanical behaviour, impact energy absorption, shear thickening fluids, and thermal characterization. He adopts a multi-scale approach, integrating microscopic analysis (SEM and micro-CT) with macroscopic mechanical testing and computational modelling to understand structure–property relationships.

He has authored five peer-reviewed journal articles as first author, one book chapter, delivered seven oral presentations at international conferences, and presented two conference posters. His work consistently bridges experimental and computational methods within a rigorous, performance-driven, and sustainability-oriented engineering framework.
