André Quintã holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aveiro. He has been teaching higher education since 2007. He was a scientific research fellow under the Smart Green Homes project and a doctoral fellow from the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia. Currently is a Professor at the School of Design, Management, and Production Technologies Northern Aveiro and a researcher at TEMA Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation and LASI Intelligent Systems Associate Laboratory. He has published 9 papers in scientific journals and 25 communications at conferences with publication in a book of proceedings or abstracts. His main topics of interest are mechatronics, industrial automation, systems modeling and simulation, instrumentation, control, industrial informatics, IIoT and Industry 4.0.
